Swimming day out

On Tuesday, the second week of the school holiday, my brother Kody and I, went to Oscar because my Mum and Dad were at work so we had no one to look after us. Everyday we did something and on Tuesday we went swimming at Rolleston pool because Oscar wanted us to have fun. The Oscar leaders are Marie, Ashley, Kearin and Brad. They were amazing!

Story:

When we got to the pool we were told the rules and after that we got changed and then went out to the pool and put our bags away. Next we put goggles on if we needed them.

After all that I was allowed to jump into the big lane pool, it was freezing Kea and I kept jumping off the diving board until we were so cold we went into the warm pool. It was so nice and warm and toasty.

In the warm pool there was a lazy river I would just lie down on my back while it would push. I would keep on going round and round until I got dizzy then I hopped out and was so dizzy I fell over.

After that lazy river we got out of all the pools and got changed after we got changed we got to eat I was starving and then we left.

Conclusion

I was happy and so Lucky to go swimming and I hope I can go again with my mum, Isla and Fin.

The lions strike!!

4.5.12 It was another amazing day on the African Savannah with the herd and my family. My dad is the king of the herd. We were are all migrate across the bank to get to the watering hole. I noticed dad’s shadow is dark, it’s like in a cave, it’s like my safety blanket. I am just a calf after all.

Suddenly my dad stopped I knew something was not right, we had found company, my dad could taste danger. “Run my dad roared!” The herd quickly ran as fast as we can, my heart was pounding as fast as it could. Suddenly the lion pounced out of the bush then chased after me, then the lion jumped on me. There it was on my back, I felt the lion for the first time, I felt the claws stabbing into my back like a sharp knife. There was a sharp pain going down my back there was a big scratch and I lost my balance. SPLASH!!! I fell into the water the lions started to pull me out but then SNAP!! A crocodile grabbed me. Suddenly the lions and crocodile started a tug-o-war for their lunch. I was the rope! The lions won the tug-o-war against the crocodile they pulled me out even more on to the bank. I could hear my herd coming back to save me. I could smell freedom ahead. I could see my exit. Here comes my dad with the herd. They quickly grabbed me out and chased after the lions. My dad sent out a big Moooo!!! To say it was clear.

I was frightened, I did not think my family would come back for me. I felt scared after getting attacked like that, it’s probably going to give me nightmares. I was happy that my herd came back to save me in the end.

First draft

                 The lions strike!!

4.5.12 It was another amazing day in Africa.  With my herd my dad is the king of the herd so he safes all the poor kids from the lions.  We were are all  walking across the bank to get to the water hole. I noticed dad’s shadow is dark it’s like in a cave, It’s like my safety blanket But I'm Just a calf.   Suddenly my dad stopped I knew something was not right we had crossed company my dad tasted lions. “Run my dad roared”   the herd quickly ran as fast as we can my heart was pounding as fast as it could.  suddenly something was on my back I felt the lion for the first time.   There was a sharp pain going down my back their was a big scratch I lost my balance.  SPLASH!!! I fell into the water I got dragged out but then SNAP!! a crocodile got me now they were playing tug a war for there lunch I was the rope sadly. The lions won the fight between the crocodile and the lions I could hear my herd coming back to save me.  I could smell freedom.  All I could see was the lion for my first time.  Here comes my dad with the herd they quickly grabbed me out and chased after the lions.  My dad sent out a big moo to say it was clear.  I felt scared and frighten hope fully it does not happen again.  

Thank you family I was frightened I did not think you would come back for me.  Then dad sent out a big moo to say I was ok.  I felt Scared after that it was a rough day.  I was happy that you came back to save me.

 

Battle at Kruger National park sequence

	The Herd of buffaloes are walking  on the bank and having a good day.  But what they don’t know, there are lions.
	The lions are eyeing up the buffaloes they are hungry.
	The lions are getting ready to charge at the buffaloes.
	The buffaloes are running as fast as they can to get away but the baby is slow so the lion is going to get the baby.
	The lion is about pounce on the  baby so they can get the adults next.
	Splash!! They got the calf and now they are playing tug of war for their lunch with a crocodile "Help me cried the calf".
	The lions defeated the crocodile the parents came back with a herd they surround the lions.
	The lions keep trying to attack the buffaloes but the buffaloes are charging back.
